Many of you have an online identity with blogs, personal website, etc. I guess all of you must be concerned about you website regarding google indexing, pagerank, pageviews, bounce rate, % of new visitors, visitors count, etc.
But how do you track these events ?
And are you interested in tracking them so that you can improve your website by analysing that data ?
This need of webmasters is realised by google and fullfiled with the launch of their free web service by the name of Google Analytics(GA).
GA is a website where you can register a free account and using that account you can track your website regarding different analysis events.
Steps involved in setting your website with google analytics to track your website are as follows (10 minute setup):
- Goto Google Analytics Website and register a free account (if you already don’t have a google account).
- Get the Tracking code from their for your website.
- Install that tracking code in your website`s each and every page (Note: you need to put that code on each and every page and not just the home page, you can put that code anywhere in your HTML Code)
- Check back on GA website to confirm that you installed GA code in your website correctly.
- Wait for few day to let GA collect data from your website.
- Done, start analysing your website stats on GA.
