Fujitsu Lifebook series gets cool new features
Fujitsu has announced that it has added some cool new features to its line of new Lifebook notebook computers. The new features are implemented across the entire Lifebook line and the cool features will appeal to those that use their notebooks a lot. Fujitsu says that it is focusing on usability and making sure that its machines are as user friendly as possible to make working on the machines as easy as possible.
MacBook Pro 2011 15-inch specs, picture hands-on
Design of the new MacBook Pro 2011 is actually identical to previous models with Apple keeping the unibody shell the same as before, only real difference to the outside design is the addition of the Thunderbolt logo instead of the display port, on the left hand side of the laptop.
While it might look the same from the outside, it’s packed with plenty of speed enhancements, from the addition of a SDXC card reader instead of a standard SD card reader, and a new webcam that now records in 720p at 1280x720 resolution. Other treats include faster quad-core processors (on the 15- and 17-inch models) although Apple hasn't moved away from DVD install disks like they did with the MacBook Air.
HP ProBook 6360b review and specs
HP on Wednesday respun its ProBook line to take advantage of Intel's second-run Core processors. Sony VAIO S Series: 13.3-inch slim notebook PCs, Battery keep 14hr runtime
Sony has outed its latest ultraportable range, the 13.3-inch VAIO S Series. Just 24mm thick and around 1.75kg, the S Series introduces a smart new battery concept that lets you keep working day and night without a pause, can be paired with a slice battery for up to 14hrs runtime, uses up to Intel’s Core i7-2620M and 8GB of DDR3 memory (in the Sony VAIO VPC-SB1A9E/B) along with up to a 128GB SSD and AMD Radeon™ HD 6630M + Intel® HD Graphics doing double-duty with an Intel HD GPU.
The display runs at 1366 x 768 and has a low-reflection coating, while the chiclet keyboard is backlit with auto-brightness control. Integrated 3G is an option, and there’s a WEB instant-boot mode for when you just want quick internet access.
Ports include USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, and there’s a Blu-ray drive along with WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1. No word on pricing at this stage, but the Sony VAIO S Series will go on sale from March 2011.
Lenovo IdeaPad U260 ultraportable image, video review, specs
IdeaPad U260 is a stunning looking piece of technology with the build quality of a ThinkPad but styling that's anything but ThinkPad. This 12.5" laptop weighs only 3 lbs. and is 0.7" inches thick, and it looks more like an elegant book than an ultraportable computer. We've got the Clementine orange color, which is tasteful rather than loud, and it's also available in Mocha brown with a bronze cast. The notebook recently launched in a quiet way, and we're not sure why Lenovo isn't doing a better job of marketing their first luxury ultralight. Lenovo IdeaPad U260 is no computing slouch. The $1,099 model comes with the ULV version of Intel's Core i5 CPU (the 470UM) clocked at 1.33GHz with Turbo Boost up to 1.86GHz. The $999 model comes with a ULV Core i3 (get the i5, it's worth $100).
The White MacBook Air Clone N06, 10 inches, smaller than MacBook Air
Apple products are always the most cloned in China. And now a Shanzhai manufacturer gave his clone of the new MacBook Air 11″. Called N06, it adopts a 10.6-inch LED screen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. It has a netbook configuration with an Atom processor N450 1.66Ghz supported by 1GB of DDR2 and a 160GB hard drive. In addition, it offers an HDMI output, 2 USB 2.0, one RJ45 LAN port, a Mini Display Port output, a slot for 3G SIM and a SD card reader. This Macbook Air clone measures 276x188x26mm and weighs 1.1 kg with its battery of 3800mAh.
The price will be the main asset of this clone since it should be at around 150 euros.
Toshiba intros NB520 and NB500 netbook with dual Atom, Harman speakers
Toshiba has recently launched two new models in its new netbook series called NB500 and NB520 NB, both make the leap to the dual-core, 1.5GHz Atom N550 and can play up to 720p video. The NB520 is more unique still in its audio system: a set of Harman Kardon speakers gives it above-average 4W output and supports Dolby Advanced Audio.

AMD netbooks: Acer Aspire One 521 and Gateway LT22 hands-on
Acer may already have the Ion 2-powered Aspire One 532g in its arsenal, but who's going to complain about two more HD-capable, 10-inch netbooks? Showing some serious love to AMD, the Acer Aspire One 521 and Gateway LT22 both pack new 1.2GHz AMD V105 processors along with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics. The latter is what had us most impressed when we caught some time with the duo at the Netbook Summit -- the 521 and LT22 handled 1080p WMV video and light gaming without any stuttering. We'll hold our real performance conclusions until we can test the battery life on these bad boys, but other than that they look like decent netbook contenders with the standard 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard drives. And unlike the typical Atom netbook, they have HDMI ports.
