Gemalto Brings the first Facebook SIM Card to All Mobile Phones


At the Mobile World Congress on Monday Gemalto announced a SIM card-based application that allows any GSM-based mobile phone to interact with Facebook using SMS messages, without the need for a data connection. It was built for wide compatibility on simple GSM handsets, according to Gemalto, using two basic technologies. It uses Class 2 SMS messages, a type of message which is stored and used on the SIM card, not the phone, and it also uses the GSM SIM Toolkit, which is part of the GSM standard and available on all GSM handsets..

Google demos Android Movie Studio for Honeycomb at MWC


At MWC, Schmidt demonstrated a new video editor designed specifically for Honeycomb tablets, by the name of Movie Studio. Movie Studio was developed by Google, and aims to be a feature-filled video editor mainly aimed at its largest current competitor, iMovie.
Some of the features include:
  • Adding soundtracks
  • Add several types of video effects
  • Share the videos you make online, primarily through YouTube
  • Combine photos and videos
  • Add transitions and animations
  • Move around slides

HTC announces Three New Smartphones Incredible S, Desire S, and Wildfire S Specs


The HTC Desire S has a complete aluminum design paired with 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 3.7-SLCD screen. The Desire S also packs a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, 768MB of RAM, and 1450mAh battery and Android 2.3.

The Wildfire S is HTC’s lower-end Android set and will sport a 600MHz Qualcomm processor, 3.2-inch TFT display, 512MB ROM, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0, 1230mAh battery, and Android 2.3.

The Incredible S’ spec sheet is as follows: 1GHz Qualcomm processor, 768MB of RAM, 4-inch SLCD WVGA display, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and Android 2.2.
All three devices will be will be available in Europe and Asia in Q2 of 2011 and ship with HTC’s Sense UI.

HTC announced Flyer tablet 7-inch, run Android 2.4, 1.5GHz Qualcomm chip single-core


At MWC 2011 (Mobile World Congress 2011), HTC announced Flyer tablet using a single-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm chip along with a smaller 4,000mAh battery. The Flyer will also bring 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, micro-SD card slot, HDMI-out, DLNA support, run  Android 2.4 with 7-inch screen. The device will be available globally, at an unknown price point, in Q2 of 2011.

HTC announces Chacha and Salsa handsets with facebook button, Specs,


HTC has announced Chacha and Salsa handsets at MWC 2011 (Mobile World Congress 2011), the candybar-style Chacha and the full-touchscreen Salsa. The specifications on the two devices are nearly identical: 600MHz processor, 512MB or ROM and RAM, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, a dedicated Facebook button, and Android 2.3.3. They do, however, have there differences Chacha features a full-QWERTY keyboard with a 2.6-inch TFT display and a 1,250mAh battery. The Salsa has a 3.4-inch touchscreen display and 1,520mAh battery. Both sets will be available in Q2 of 2011 in Europe and Asia.

LG Optimus 3D official, video and pictures hands-on, Specs


LG has officially announced the LG Optimus 3D, the company’s 3D-capable smartphone based on a Texas Instruments 1GHz dual-core OMAP4 processor and a 5-megapixel dual-lens camera for 3D video capture. The Optimus 3D has an autostereoscopic 3D glasses-free display measuring in at 4.3-inches and WVGA resolution, HDMI 1.4 connectivity, DLNA support, up to 1080p 2D video recording and a broad range of codec support including H.264, H.263, DivX, MKV, WMV-9, ASF, AVI, 3GP and MP4. LG has thrown in 8GB of storage and a memory card slot, and there’s a new 3D UI with five 3D-dedicated UIs for the gallery, camera, game & apps, YouTube 3D and a 3D guide to the handset, Optimus 3D run Android 2.2 Froyo, with a Gingerbread update.
The LG Optimus 3D will arrive in Europe early in Q2.

Mobile World Congress (MWC) mean, MWC 2011 update


The GSMA GSM Association Mobile World Congress is the combination of the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry and a congress featuring prominent Chief Executives representing mobile operators, vendors and content owners from across the world. The event, initially named as GSM World Congress and later renamed as the 3GSM World Congress, is still often referred to as 3GSM.

- In 2007, approximately 55,000 people attended. The GSM Associations - Mobile World Congress takes place at the Fira de Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, in February.

- The 2009 GSM Association Mobile World Congress took place from Monday, February 16, to Thursday, February 19. The first day was dominated by Microsoft-related announcements, such as their increased partnership with LG and demonstrations of their new Windows Mobile 6.5 Operating System.

- Mobile World Congress 2010 was held on February 15, 2010. One of the biggest news stories that came out of the event was the announcement of Microsoft's new revamped mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7.

- MWC 2011 will be held February 14th-17th.

Samsung S5830 will show on the Mobile World Congres event from 14 - 17 February 2010. But now you can see some image of this phone. S5830 that will be powered by Android 2.2.1 and feature a 5MP camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot and apparently 720p HD video recording support.
