How To Add an RSS Feed to Google Reader


Create your own Google Reader page where you can access all your RSS feeds in one place. Now you can find out when your favorite blogs or other Web pages are updating by adding their RSS feed to your Google Reader page.


  1. Go to the blog of other Web site who's RSS feed you want to add. The Web site must have an RSS button for this to work. The button may say something else, for instance, the button for this on About.com says "XML". Click on the feed button for the RSS feed you want to add.
  2. Choose if you want to add your RSS feed to your Google page, Yahoo page, or one of the other's listed. In this case, since we are adding an RSS feed to Google you would want to click on the "Add To Google" button.
  3. Do you want to add the RSS feed to your Google homepage. This is a page you can go to online to get news and other information. You can have your RSS feeds sent there. Then to read them you would go to that Web site.To add it to your Google homepage first make sure you are signed into Google, then click the "Add to Google Homepage" button. Bookmark the page so you can find it again.
  4. Do you want to use the Google Reader? This is an online RSS reader. You can sign up for many different RSS feeds and get them all on this page. Bookmark the page and you can go to it whenever you want. This is formatted more like an email program. As you read the messages they will be marked as read.To add it to your Google Reader click on the "Add to Google Reader" button. Bookmark the page so you can find it again.
  5. That's it! Now you can read all your favorite blogs, Web sites and news feeds all in one place.
