Flash Player 10.2 beta improves video acceleration

Adobe has introduced Flash Player 10.2 beta, which brings a variety of new features focused on improved video playback performance. The update utilizes a new model for video playback, labeled Stage Video, that promises a significant decrease in processor usage and memory usage. The system is also said to enable higher frame rates and greater pixel fidelity.
The latest version enables hardware accelerated graphics in Internet Explorer 9, while developers can define custom native mouse cursors. Support for full-screen mode with multiple monitors has also been improved, allowing users to view full-screen content on one display while completing tasks on a second screen.
Flash Player 10.2 beta is now available directly from the company for Mac, Windows and Linux machines.
